*** The following therapists are able to treat substance abuse/addiction issues. They either have extensive experience working with clients who are experiencing these issues and/or they have their LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor) certification. ***

Lori Amison, LPC, SAC, NCC, ACS

Clinical Director

Lori has her Masters Degree in Counseling from The College of New Jersey and is certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Master Addictions Counselor (MAC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Student Assistance Counselor (SAC).

Lori has over 25 years of experience working with those struggling with a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADD, behavioral issues and substance abuse.   She works with school age children through adults and also offers couples counseling.

Miriam Egan, LPC, LCADC

Miriam is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling concentrating in Substance Use from the College of New Jersey and Masters of Education degree in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University. Miriam has experience working at the community level of care with children, adolescents, couples and families, and groups. Miriam utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing interventions to assist clients in developing coping skills by raising their consciousness of self.

Nicole Morris, LAC, DRCC

Nicole is a Licensed Associate Counselor with over twenty-five years of experience working in different areas of mental health, including community-based programs, residential, and individual therapy.  She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Treatment from Kean University and Masters in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  She is also a certified Disaster Response Crisis Counselor for the state of New Jersey, and she has experience as a domestic violence advocate and a critical incident stress debriefer.  Her eclectic therapeutic approach relies strongly on the creation of a collaborative relationship based on transparency, empowerment, and a shared desire to tackle issues in a realistic manner.  Nicole works well with teens and adults coping with a wide variety of mental health issues including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma (including PTSD), relationships issues, grief, and loss.  She utilizes a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered counseling.

Barbara Paquette, LPC, LCADC

Barbara is dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  She is licensed in NJ and PA. Barbara has almost 10 years’ experience assisting adolescents and adults dealing with a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, drug and alcohol problems, borderline personality disorders, and history of trauma including Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Barbara’s approach is client centered focusing on each person’s individualized needs.  She utilizes a combination of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused techniques to assist clients to achieve personal goals.   Barbara is also trained in EMDR and is currently working towards becoming EMDR certified.

Susan Conley, LPC, LCADC

Susan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  She has over 20 years experience assisting adolescents and adults dealing with a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, Bipolar, ADHD, stress management, self-esteem issues, and alcohol and drug issues.  She has facilitated numerous groups providing education and treatment on a variety of topics including anger management, co-dependency, and substance abuse.  Her specialties include adolescent counseling, alcohol and drug counseling and women’s issues.  Susan’s approach is client centered focusing on each person’s individual needs.  She utilizes a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused techniques to assist her clients.

Kathleen Lee, LPC, LCADC, ACS

Clinical Director

Kathleen Lee is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Kathleen is also an advanced clinical supervisor. Kathleen began working in the field in 2008 and gained experiencing working with individuals with mental health and substance use concerns.  Kathleen graduated with her master’s degree in community counseling from Rider University. She has experience providing compassionate judgement free care to adults using a person centered and strength based approach which utilizes motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques. Kathleen has 10 years of experience working in leadership positions where she provided clinical supervision and ensured agencies meet licensing and accreditation standards. Kathleen successfully created and ran an award winning group program. Her expert understanding of issues relating to mental health and addiction paired with her innate ability to conceptualize and respond to challenges makes her a strong leader. While in leadership position Kathleen always continued to provide counseling services to patients and is excited to spend her days helping patients feel supported while they develop coping skill to minimize symptoms. 

Susan Goodwin, LCADC, LPC

Susan is fully licensed as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor and received her Master’s degree in School Psychology from Georgian Court University.  Susan has experience working with adolescents, adults, and their families.  She specializes in alcohol and drug abuse, client education, treatment solutions, consultation, and referrals if needed.  Susan uses a client centered approach and strives to create a warm, inviting atmosphere where clients are encouraged to explore their feelings and make positive changes in their lives. Susan enjoys traveling, biking, working out, and spending time with family.
